Brian Ames keeps 300 hives in 17 different locations  across Minnesota.  Each jar of honey is searchable in the beeyard database, using the hive number and location printed on the side of every container.

All of Ames single source honey is raw unfiltered honey, which means it was not exposed to heat outside of the beehive and is not processed or blended.  Raw honey contains beneficial vitamins, enzymes and yeasts which processed honey does not.  It is also delicate and can be damaged by careless management of the beehives, the placement of the hives and the removal of the honey from the hives.  The aroma, flavor and body of the honey are all affected by these variables.

Tasting notes:  This honey has a light cinnamon and herb flavor. This years’ crop was some of the best quality Brian has seen in over a decade.
